Experience That Supports Mainers
An Experienced Legislator
Dan has spent decades working where education technology, and economic opportunity intersect. In the Legislature, he has become an active voice on technology, education, and innovation, with a focus on helping Maine people benefit from change rather than be left behind by it.
He also represents Maine through the State AI Policy Forum and serves on the National Conference of State Legislatures Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Privacy. In 2025, he was appointed to the Maine Artificial Intelligence Task Force, helping develop its report on both the opportunities and risks created by AI.
Committed to Collaboration and Progress
Dan believes meaningful progress requires working with people who bring different perspectives to the table. He serves as co-chair of the bipartisan Innovation and Growth Caucusas well as the Maine-Canadian Legislative Advisory Commission, where he has helped encourage cooperation across borders and across traditional divides. Education also remains central to his work, including efforts to modernize K-12 and technical education so Maine students and workers are prepared for the opportunities ahead.
A Valued Voice in the Maine House
In the House, Dan has also worked to lower costs and help create the conditions that allow Maine families to build a secure future here. His experience and collaborative approach have earned him recognition as a steady, solutions-focused leader. Senate President Mattie Daughtry has described him as “exactly the kind of steady, solutions-oriented voice we need in the Maine Senate.” For Dan, leadership comes back to the communities he represents: listening, finding common ground, and helping make Maine a place where people can thrive at every stage of life.
